Day 2: Starting Your Meditation and Journaling Practice
Welcome to Day 2 of the "Journey to Self Leadership 30-Day Challenge!" Today, we’re introducing two simple practices: meditation and journaling.
These activities will help you connect with your inner self, understand your thoughts and feelings better, and start noticing the different parts of yourself that come up throughout the day.
The focus today is on gently starting these practices without any pressure—just take it one step at a time. You can do it!
Before We Begin: Let's Address Common Concerns
Looking at a new program focused on changing habits often brings up doubts and concerns. Perhaps you're thinking "I already have too much to do," or "I've tried meditation before and couldn't stick with it," or "I have trouble staying focused and consistent with new practices."
These thoughts are a natural part of beginning something new. The key is understanding that this challenge is designed to fit into your life, not overwhelm it. Each day involves just four simple elements:
A meditation practice that can be as brief as three mindful breaths
A short journal reflection on the day's prompt
Quick notes in your habit tracker
A brief connection with others in the Facebook community
For those who find it challenging to maintain focus or consistency, simple supports can help. Setting a regular time for your practice, perhaps linked to something you already do like morning coffee, can make it easier to remember. A gentle phone alarm or sticky note in a visible spot can serve as a helpful reminder.
With that said, let’s dive right in!
